GROUP HEALTH INSURANCE: IS IT RIGHT FOR MY BUSINESS?

Most employers, at one point or another wonder if an employer health plan is right for their business; this is a common question that comes up when I speak with business owners. Most of the time, the answer is a BIG YES!

There are so many benefits to having a group health insurance policy for your business!

  • Tax advantages for the employer

  • Statistically proven- Employee gain and retention

  • Healthy, happy employees

  • Doctor visits in the office

  • Some plans even pay YOU back at the end of the year as the business owner

  • Employees earn points for extra cash and shopping on some plans!

  • And the list goes on and on…..

Does your business qualify for a group health insurance plan?

Do you have more than ONE employee in your business? Then YES you qualify for a group plan if you have them on payroll! Some states allow husband and wife and some states do not so that is something we can look at! Some companies even allow 1099! Every business and situation is different when looking for small business health insurance.

But do not fret, we have the answers and the experience so if there is a way, WE WILL FIND IT!

If your business consists of just YOURSELF, then no, unfortunately we cannot get you into a group plan.

We have many individual options we can do for you and they would more than likely be incredibly competitive in price compared to a group plan!

Sometimes group plans are not a good fit for just 2 employees because of cost, so what we can do is compare many different options for you! After all, this is your business and your expense! Why not pick and choose exactly what makes sense for your business? Whether you have 2 employees or 2,000, we want to help!

What health insurance companies do we work with?

Some may call us “insurance snobs” but being in the industry so long, I have seen first hand what low rated insurance companies can do to a person with not paying claims or delay paying claims.

We work with all of the top insurance companies and some smaller ones so our carrier portfolio is quite large but just to name a few:

  • Humana

  • Aetna

  • Blue Cross and Blue Shield

  • Anthem

  • United Healthcare

  • Oscar National General

  • Ambetter

  • Molina

  • Golden Rule

How much do you have to pay towards your employees group plan you may wonder?

Companies want to see a 50 % contribution towards your employees plans.

What is included in employee benefits?

Most employers combine, Medical, dental, vision, life and short-term or long-term disability. Some carriers even provide discounts for packaging together!

Is there a fee to work with our brokerage?

Absolutely not! We do not agree in charging our client’s additional fees to help them, the insurance companies already pay us a commission. Most times when we compare rates for customers, ours come in lower with the same company because we are not adding in any additional commissions or fees. We want to provide the lowest rates possible. A win-win for client and broker. Customer retention is particularly important to us, anyway we can help, we will!

Are all agencies the same?

No! At Affordable Insurance Team we have over 18 years’ experience in the insurance industry. On top of our award winning, personalized customer service, we provide a comprehensive employee benefits package that also includes additional perks for your business at no additional cost to you!

If you are looking for a health insurance agent, look no further! You will never be lost with your employee benefits; we will hold you and your employee’s hands along the way and will always be there when you need us!

With any agent who pulls quotes for you, you can check their license date with the state insurance department to see how new they are in the industry! This may help you in your journey to finding the perfect broker! We highly encourage you to do your due diligence to make sure you are working with experienced professionals.
